5G的部署分两个阶段：目前正在进行推广的只是低于6GHz的频段。针对第二阶段的部 署，最早要到2023年左右才开始推广，即转移到24GHz以上毫米波频谱中更宽的频带。 5G的推出将使化合物半导体行业受益。GaAs HBT和GaN HEMT的应用将蓬勃发展，其 他技术的发展也将随之而来，例如GaAs pHEMT和硅上GaN晶体管。
